Rachel’s baby classes are a rare gem. She creates a beautiful space for children to play in freely, and offers parents the chance to sit back, relax, as well as to see their children in a way they may have never seen them before. She is also an invaluable source of knowledge when it comes to questions about those magical but often hard early years of parenthood. We look forward to each week’s session with my 10-months-old, and have happy memories of the earlier ones from 4 years ago that my now 5-year-old and I attended.

What's in it for my child?

First Playtime offers you a whole package if you want it. Just by attending a regular class, you are already gaining access to a wonderful place of peaceful, mindful attention - perfect for your little one and perfect for you.

Classes also offer room for your child to grow into themself - through play and through interaction with other children. Whether your child is busy or more reserved, there's space for them to explore the environment at their own, self-chosen pace. And while they are playing, we the adults are watching what they can do already and noticing each new thing as it happens. 


What's in it for me?

While your child is playing, we the adults are watching what they can do already and noticing each new thing as it happens. How often do you get to do that at home? In my experience, we either become involved in the play at home, or use the time our child is playing to get our work done. Neither of these are wrong, but wouldn't it be nice to be able to take the time to really see, with fresh eyes?


Our workshops are designed to create space for you, the attendee, to pick my brains a little more, while I focus on elements of childhood and parenting which I feel are relevant to you as a parent or carer. 

In just a few short hours, we get to the heart of something important, with space for experimentation, discussion and questions.
